Chat to our team anytime

Our new digital health app means you can get same-day service without making an appointment. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Download the Well Revolution app from Google Play or Apple Store
  2. Enter your details
  3. Choose Shortland Health
  4. Start your first consult

Our team will be on the other end, ready to help like we usually do.

What is our digital health app?

Our digital health app is a patient that lets you get same-day service without making an appointment.

Chat consults, appointment bookings, prescriptions, and lab results are now all available from one place — your phone.

How do chat consults work?

Chat consults work like other messaging apps (such as Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp), but they are more secure.

You can start a private, secure conversation anytime, anywhere within the app. Your message is sent directly to our clinical team, and the app will notify you as soon as they respond.

Our clinical team can also start a live audio or video call with you to discuss your situation within the app.

How much does it cost?

Our digital health app (Well Revolution) is free to download from Google Play or the App Store.

Chat consultations cost $41 for all patients 14 years and older (with Community Service Card holders still eligible for $17.00 consultations). Children 13 years and younger are free.

Repeat prescriptions cost $24.

How do I pay for consults in the app?

The app will ask you to securely add your payment details when completing the registration process. When you finish your consultation, payment is then automatically made.

The app will not charge you if you are eligible for a free consult.

When is this service available?

Our clinical team is available on the app from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

If you message us outside of these hours, our clinical team will respond when we reopen.

How do I get started?

You can get started in four simple steps:

  1. Download the Well Revolution app from Google Play or Apple Store
  2. Enter your details
  3. Choose Shortland Health
  4. Start your first consult

Our team will be on the other end, ready to help like we usually do.

Is support available?

Yes, support is available.

You can start a live support chat with Well Revolution directly within the app if you have a question or need help. Do this by clicking ‘App Support’ on the main menu or ‘Ask Us a Question’ from the Select Service button.

Where can I download the app?

You can download the Well Revolution app from Google Play or Apple Store

Once installed, enter your details, choose Shortland Health and then start your first consult. It’s that easy!

Flu shots are available now

Flu is not a mild illness. It can keep you in bed for a week or more, preventing you from caring for others, going to work, doing sport, attending church or just about anything that requires leaving the house.

New Zealand’s 2022 flu vaccine will protect against four strains of flu virus – two influenza type A strains and two influenza type B strains:

+ A/Victoria/2570/2019 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
+ A/Darwin/9/2021 (H3N2)-like virus
+ B/Austria/1359417/2021-like virus

+ B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus

The strains in bold are new for 2022.

Throughout the year, the World Health Organization monitors the different flu strains around the world and each year decides which strains are likely to cause flu in the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. Flu vaccine manufacturers make each year’s vaccine by growing lots of these viruses, mostly in hens’ eggs. They then inactivate the virus and extract the bits that are needed to make the vaccine.

The vaccine:

+ Does not contain any live viruses and so cannot cause flu.
+ Does not contain any preservatives, thiomersal or mercury.
+ Contains only very tiny amounts of egg protein and is safe for people with egg allergies
